Two very different spaces, one brilliant celebration! Cami & Nicky’s wedding day started with a beautiful ceremony at Reading Town Hall, and finished with a super fun and relaxed reception at Spinners.
Their ceremony took place inside Reading Town Hall, a venue that brings instant grandeur with its stunning architecture, high ceilings and historic features.
Led by the local registrars, the ceremony was heartfelt and full of emotion, with Cam & Nicky surrounded by family and close friends. They exchanged the most beautiful, sincere vows, in an easy, relaxed atmosphere that reflected them perfectly as a couple.
After the ceremony, guests stood up to celebrate the couple, shaking pom-poms, as the couple danced their way out of the ceremony room, with OMI's "Cheerleader" playing as their exit song. It was a brilliant way to celebrate their first moments as newly-weds!
After some group-shots outside the stunning Town Hall, the three of us headed off for some couple portraits at Forbury Gardens and the Reading Abbey Ruins. Little did we know Reading Illuminated was on and we were about to be locked in to the park! But, we managed to talk our way out of it, and got some stunning shots despite being under pressure!
The transition from the elegance of the Town Hall to the high-energy fun of Spinners couldn’t have been more perfect. The reception was fun, informal and full of personality, just like the couple.
With games galore, from clay-pigeon shooting, to darts, and bowling, it was a brilliant evening, with laughter everywhere you turned, drinks flowing, and plenty of moments that made for brilliant candid photos.
As the evening unfolded, you could see Cam & Nicky were simply in their element, celebrating with their favourite people in a space that felt entirely them. From elegant vows to competitive games and big laughs, their wedding day was a true reflection of how personal and fun celebrations can be when couples do things their own way.
If you’re planning your own wedding at Reading Town Hall or a fun, alternative reception and are looking for a photographer to capture it all naturally and unobtrusively, I’d love to hear from you.
